This is a community for anyone dealing with the NBN, internet, phone lines, WiFi and home tech in Australia. It’s run by SECURE A COM, an independent technician business in Sydney’s Sutherland Shire, and the team behind the SECURE A COM YouTube channel.
Had a great experience with your provider, or a nightmare? Stuck on something and need a hand? Picked up a trick that might help someone else? This is the place for it. The idea is simple: we all help each other out, because someone here has probably been through what you’re dealing with.
Here’s what’s here so far:
🛠️ Faults and Dropouts: internet dropping out or crawling? Post your symptoms and we’ll help work out where the fault is.
📦 Know Your NBN: box lights, connection types and the faults each one is known for.
⚡ FTTP Upgrades: getting fibre? Ask where the box can go and what to sort out first.
🛒 Choosing Your Internet: providers, plans, 5G and Starlink, from people who’ve actually used them.
📶 Home WiFi and Mesh: dead spots, modems, mesh and extenders.
🛡️ Tech Help and Scam Alerts: plain-English help with phones and tablets, and a place to check whether a call, text or email is a scam.

🔒 Keep personal details out of posts and screenshots, like addresses, account numbers and phone numbers.
✅ Share your own experience. Claims about a company or another trade that you can’t back up will be removed.
To get things started, reply below with your suburb and which NBN you’ve got (FTTP, FTTN, FTTC, FTTB, HFC, Fixed Wireless, or not sure). If you’re not sure, say so and we’ll help you find out. 👋
